The Ministry for the Ecological Transition has included the line between Tías and Playa Blanca in its list of "priority" projects in the new draft plan for the electricity transmission grid to 2030. It was announced after a meeting between the Secretary of State for Energy and the Canary Islands energy minister.
It is good news for the south, which is growing fast and relies on a fairly stretched grid, especially after the recent blackouts.
Bear in mind that for now this is a proposal still going through the approval process. There is no construction work or date yet.
