Weekend scares: CPR at La Garita, a rescue at Playa Quemada and a crash in Playa Blanca

Three emergency call-outs between Friday and Saturday, none with a known tragic outcome.

On Friday afternoon at La Garita beach (Arrieta), lifeguards and then firefighters resuscitated an elderly man who suffered cardiac arrest at the water's edge. He was taken to Molina Orosa hospital in a stable condition. His condition on arrival is not known.

The same day, firefighters had to carry out a 68-year-old man on a stretcher after he hurt his ankle in a fall on a poorly maintained path at Playa Quemada.

And on Saturday at around 7am, a driver lost control on Avenida Archipiélago in Playa Blanca, crashed into the wall of a residential complex and overturned. The driver was unhurt.
